22 October '08The 2008 Inspiration Session
The Melt 2008 Inspiration Session took place on Thursday, 4th September at The Showroom Cinema in Sheffield. Over 120 people from the creative industries of South Yorkshire and beyond attended the afternoon. Presentations were given from Adam Gee (Channel 4), James Kirkham (Holler), Paula le Dieu, The Future Laboratory, Adrian Friedli (Arts Council England). Lucy Wurstlin, the director of the Melt programme, also gave an overview of the past 3 years of the Melt pilot programme and a number of the recipients of a Melt award discussed the projects that Melt has enabled them to develop.
22 October '08The 2008 Showcase event
The Melt 2008 Showcasing event took place on Thursday, 4th September in Sylvester Space, Sheffield. Over 250 people enjoyed entertainment from The Sancho Plan, food and drink courtesy of Bragazzi and Dulo's and were given the opportunity to see a selection of the Melt supported projects in action.
22 October '08The Melt Wii Winter Olympics - and the winner is...
A hard fought contest of down-hill slalom and ski jump was eventually won overall by Grenville Glossop from The Community Media Association. He is now the proud owner of the worlds one and only pair of 3D ski goggles...congratulations Grenville!
